Pasini Won’t Race for Pramac This Year
Mattia Pasini has confirmed that he will not be racing with the Pramac Ducati team this season.
Although the Italian rider proved himself to be a real contender in his debut MotoGP test with the Pramac Ducati team in the race at Brno on Monday, the team have stated that he will not race for them this season.
Pasini was recognised as being the front runner for the Pramac seat, following the surprise announcement that the 250GP star would test on Monday rather than Fabrizio. Pasini was given the chance to ride because Pramac’s regular rider, Mika Kallio has replaced Casey Stoner during Stoner’s recovery. Commenting on the opportunity, Pasini said:
“I have to thanks Pramac and his team principal Paolo Campinoti, Ducati and all the people that allowed me to compete with the best riders in the world today. Thanks so much!”
As ten time 125 and 250cc champion, Pasini will not be racing with the Pramac Ducati team for the remainder of the season and has stated that he will stay with Team Toth Aprilla.
Campinoti, the Pramac team principal confirmed that Pasini will not be racing for the Pramac Ducati team this year. Campinoti also praised Pasini for his test despite having to drop out at the 6th lap following a shoulder complaint, by calling him ‘a guy who never gives up, tenacious’.
