Pedrosa blitzes morning practice
Dani Pedrosa set a blistering pace in the first Friday practice session in Brno, setting a flying lap record of 1:56.328, almost a second faster than teammate Casey Stoner.
Pedrosa, who moved to the top of the time sheets at around the 45 minute mark was the only rider to post a sub-1:57 time, with Stoner second fastest at 1:57.294.
Marco Simoncelli continued his good form in practice sessions with the third fastest time, edging out Jorge Lorenzo by 0.179 seconds. Andrea Dovizioso and Ben Spies completed the top six.
Suzuki wildcard rider John Hopkins, making his second MotoGP appearance this season, was seventh fastest, edging out teammate Alvaro Bautista by just 0.024 seconds.
British rider Cal Crutchlow was ninth, just ahead of his Tech 3 Yamaha teammate, Colin Edwards.
Factory Ducati riders Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden were 11th and 14th respectively.
