Pedrosa doubt for Catalunya GP
Dani Pedrosa is a serious doubt for the Catalunya Grand Prix after breaking his collarbone, with the Spaniard waiting to see if the injury will require surgery.
The Honda rider sustained the injury following a collision with Marco Simoncelli in Sunday’s French Grand Prix at Le Mans, with the break aggravating an existing collarbone injury from a crash at Motegi last year.
The Spaniard spent Sunday night in hospital but will decide within the next few days whether to go under the knife to heal the injury, which would force him to miss the next MotoGP round in Barcelona on June 5.
A Honda statement said: “Pedrosa spent the night in the hospital, immobilised with a compressive dressing, and will decide in the next few days if he will undergo surgery to repair the fracture with a new plate or let the bone heal itself without intervention.
“In either case, his presence in the Grand Prix of Catalunya, to be held on June 5th, is uncertain
