Pedrosa resigned to missing Assen
Dani Pedrosa looks set to miss this weekend’s Grand Prix at Assen as he continues to suffer pain from a broken collarbone.
The Repsol Honda rider looks set to miss his third Grand Prix after breaking his collarbone in an accident at Le Mans on May 15, having already sat out of the Catalan and British GPs.
Pedrosa has now suggested that he will return to action at Mugello on 3 July, seven weeks after he had a metal plate inserted to fix the bone.
“It will be very difficult for me to make Assen, but I really believe I will be okay for Mugello,” he claimed.
“I want to return as soon as possible, but I want to do the right thing.”
The extensive lay-off for Pedrosa had led to reports in the Spanish press that he had suffered from a further accident whilst in Spain, although those suggestions were rubbished by his representatives.
