Provisional 2010 Calendar Announced
MotoGP organisers Dorna have release the provisional Grand Prix calendar for 2010, with Hungary reinstated to the list after a twelve month delay.
The inaugural Hungarian Grand Prix, due to take place this year at the new Balatonring, was postponed due to construction delays and will now take place on September 19th.
There were no real surprises with the announcement, with Silverstone confirmed as the new host of the British Grand Prix although the round has been brought forward to June 6.
Qatar will open the season with the night race on April 11th before the championship moves to Japan two weeks later. The season will end on November 7 in Valencia.
Organisers have however announced that the new Motorland Aragon circuit in Northern Spain has been shortlisted as a “reserve” venue in the event that any of the original venues are deemed unable to host their scheduled event prior to the season’s opening, with the Motorland circuit hosting the round on that weekend.
