Rea unharmed in Phillip Island crash
Jonathan Rea was reportedly unharmed after a high speed crash at Phillip Island today, with Castrol Honda undertaking an unofficial test ahead of the season opener in two weeks time.
Despite a dry track in Australia, Rea came off turn one during the unofficial test, much like BMW’s Troy Corser when he tested in Australia earlier this month.
Rea had completed 102 laps before the tumble and although a scan in hospital for neck pains revealed no injuries, Rea sat out the rest of the session.
Castrol Honda have taken the opportunity to come to Australia early, one week before the start of the World Superbike season at the same venue, following frustrating testing sessions in Aragon and Portimao.
