Rossi crashes rally car at Bologna Show
Valentino Rossi proved that he is human after all after he crashed a Ford Focus RS World Rally Car during a demonstration during the Findomestic Memorial Bettega at the Bologna Motor Show.
The MotoGP World Champion took part in the event earlier this week alongside former WRC World Rally Champions Petter Solberg and Marcus Gronholm, FIA Junior WRC World Champion Sébastien Ogier and 2009 FIA WRC World Rally Runner-up Mikko Hirvonen.
Having tried his hand at a number of four-wheeled motor racing formats this year, including Ferrari GT Endurance racing and F1 testing, the fans were out in force for Rossi at the Bologna show.
But during his rally showpiece the Fiat Yamaha rider, who has made no secret of his desire to try his hand at rally driving when his bike career ends, lost the back end of his Ford Focus on one of the makeshift circuit’s sweeping turns, although he was more than able to see the funny side of things as he exited the car unharmed.
