Rossi expecting to be fully fit for home GP
Valentino Rossi knows that he can count on a partisan home crowd this weekend as he prepares for his home Grand Prix in Mugello this weekend.
Rossi, who sits second in the standings after struggling for the last two rounds with a shoulder problem, will be looking to cut into the nine point lead opened up by teammate Jorge Lorenzo at the top of the rider’s standings in front of his home fans and is confident that his shoulder injury has fully recovered.
“After another rest I hope my shoulder is fully recovered and that I will be back to full strength for Mugello, my home race. We had some problems in Le Mans so we will be working hard from the first session to make sure that we’re back to our best.
And the world champion believes that there would be no better place than Mugello to get back to winning ways, with the Italian circuit one of the most popular on the MotoGP calendar.
“Mugello is an incredible place to ride a motorcycle, there is nowhere else like it in the world with all the tifosi around the hills and when you go out for the first lap the sound is something amazing,” said. “I always look forward to racing there and I hope we will be in good shape this weekend.”
