Rossi expects to be fit for Sepang

Valentino Rossi has claimed that he expects to be fit enough to test in Sepang in February after undergoing surgery on his shoulder last month.

The former World Champion has suffered from a shoulder injury, sustained during a motocross accident, for much of the season but Rossi did complete a first test with Ducati at Valencia back in early November.

Rossi, who has joined Ducati from Yamaha, went under the knife just days later and was given a three month recovery period before being able to race, but believes that he will be ready to test in Malaysia in the new year.

“In about two weeks I will begin to work actively in the pool and gym to be ready for the three days of testing in February (1-3),” Rossi said on his personal website.

“We must make haste, but we hope to be fit for the first test with Ducati in 2011 in Sepang.”
