Rossi to appear in Ducati colours this week

Valentino Rossi will be officially unveiled in Ducati red for the first time on Tuesday at the annual Wrooom event in the Alps.

The event, which signals the start of the season for the Ducati MotoGP and Ferrari F1 teams, will see Rossi appear in the famous red of Ducati for the first time following his high-profile move from Yamaha at the end of 2010.

On Tuesday morning both Hayden and Rossi will be the focus of attention as they field questions from the gathered press in individual press conferences ahead of Wednesday’s official launch of the 2011 Desmosedici GP11 prototype. Claudio Domenicali, boss of Ducati Corse, will also field questions on the machine that Ducati hopes will wrestle the rider’s championship back from Yamaha.

Joining the MotoGP riders during the week will be Scuderia Ferrari drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, who will be on hand to present the Italian Formula 1 team’s 2011 car.

On Friday, a ski race and exhibition event on the iced lake involving both the MotoGP and F1 representatives will conclude the 21st edition of Wrooom, although Rossi’s participation in the activities is likely to be limited by his continuing recovery from shoulder surgery.
