Rossi wins at Sepang
The 2008 world Moto GP champion Valentino Rossi clinched another win at Sepang in the Malaysian GP yesterday.
Rossi broke away with the leading group early in the race and by lap 10 was keen to make a pass on Dani Pedrosa to take the lead. The pair looked fairly evenly matched, but Rossi pulled a late braking move and having passed the Spaniard, soon eased away.
From then on Rossi’s only rival was the 40 degree heat, as he relentlessly increased his pace to take a comfortable victory ahead of Pedrosa and Dovizioso in third.
Nicky Hayden was 4th, whilst 2008 championship challenger Casey Stoner was in 6th spot. Britain’s James Toseland crashed out in the early stages of the race.
There was better news for British race fans in the 125 class, where Bradley Smith took an heroic 2nd place, after battling his way from 13th position at the start. At the close of the race Smith was still gaining on the winner, Talmacsi, closing the gap to just over 3 seconds.
