Stoner realistic over Aragon prospects

Casey Stoner has admitted that he is “realistic” about his chances this weekend at Aragon as he goes in search of his first victory of the season.

Stoner, who will leave Ducati at the end of the season to join Repsol Honda, has endured a difficult year in 2010, having yet to take a race victory all season, with a solitary second place in California representing his best result so far.

And the Australian has admitted that whilst he will be heading to the new Aragon circuit in a positive mood this weekend, he is realistic over his prospects for a strong result.

“I’m happy to be going to Aragon. The last two races have been difficult for us and racing at a new track is exciting,” he claimed.

“We’ll go into the weekend with optimism and hope that the track is good fun and well suited to the Ducati, although being realistic we know we face a tough job to find something extra. The team and all the engineers are doing a fantastic job so it is a case of giving my maximum and helping come up with something new to improve the feeling with the bike, to get it turning better and find some more grip. More than anything we want to put the last couple of weeks behind us.”
