Stoner takes #1 plate
Casey Stoner will ride with the number one plate in the 2012 MotoGP Championship, with Jorge Lorenzo reverting back to number 99, according to the confirmed MotoGP entry listings.
A full provisional entry list released today confirmed a grip of 21 riders for 2012, with nine of those being CRT teams.
CRT include Colin Edwards on a Forward Suter-BMW, Danilo Petrucci on an Ioda-prepared machine, Randy de Puniet and Aleix Espargaro riding the Aspar-ART (Aprilia), Yonny Hernandez and Ivan Silva on the BQR FTR-Kawasaki and Michele Pirro on the Gresini FTR-Honda.
The announcement also confirms that James Ellison and Anthony West will ride ART CRT machines, the former for Paul Bird Racing.
Moto2 champion Stefan Bradl will be the only rookie on a non-CRT bike, with the other class newcomers being Petrucci, Pirro and Hernandez.
