Toseland back for Silverstone round
James Toseland will return to World Superbikes action this weekend in front of his home crowd at Silverstone.
The Sheffield born rider will be back on the grid after missing the last three rounds with a broken wrist.
Toseland required a wrist reconstruction following a testing crash back in March and has raced just three times this season, the last being at Miller Park in the USA back in May.
The former MotoGP rider, who had to pay for his rehabilitation himself because he was not insured for a testing accident, will make a return to action this weekend at Silverstone and the 30-year-old is relishing the prospect of riding in front of his home fans.
“Obviously this year has been really difficult for me due to injury, but my plan has always been to return in time for Silverstone,” said Toseland.
“Racing in front of your home fans on a track like Silverstone is an amazing feeling, so for sure I am looking forward to getting out there. I think the circuit’s fast-flowing nature will definitely suit my BMW Motorrad Italia RR and I hope we can do a good job come race day.
“I have been lucky this year to have such loyal support from my fan base back in the UK and they have really helped me through everything. I just hope I can give them something good to shout about. I cannot wait to get out there and really give it everything.”
