Toseland looking forward to first Miller Park experience

James Toseland has admitted that he is looking forward to making his debut at Miller Park this weekend, despite knowing that he already has a disadvantage on the key contenders.

Toseland, who moved to WSB from MotoGP this season, has never ridden at the Miller Park circuit before, with his only experience of the track coming from a brief car ride around the venue. But the 2007 WSB champion still enthusiastic about the weekend as he looks to get back to his recent good form.

After picking up some strong podium finishes in recent weeks, Toseland was left slightly disappointing seventh and sixth place finish in South Africa last two weeks ago but the Yorkshireman is hopeful that he can make the most of this weekend.

“I’m really looking forward to Salt Lake City,” he said. “It’s a brand new track for me. I got to drive a couple of laps in one of the Miller Racing School’s Mustang’s this week which has given me an idea of the track layout, but there’s nothing like actually riding it on a bike to understand it.

“I’ve always enjoyed coming to American tracks to race, I love Laguna Seca and Indianapolis so I’m looking forward to the challenge of learning this one and getting up to speed as quickly as possible.”
