Biaggi in action in South Africa
Max Biaggi appeared to be a little uncertain over the new Aprilia RSV 4 following the WSB test on Kyalami, claiming that the bike was “halfway between a Superbike and MotoGP bike”.
After signing for Aprilia from Sterligarda Ducati for 2009, Biaggi will trade a 1200cc monster for the more modest 1000cc Aprilia and it seems that the veteran rider seemed unsure over his new ride for the forthcoming season
The 37-year-old said:”The bike is quite small and short and that makes it transfer weight, which can be a good thing or not,” said Biaggi. “It is hard to say if the bike feels like some people say, like a MotoGP bike more than a Superbike, because I rode a twin last year and a WSB four the year before that. I think this bike feels halfway between a Superbike and a MotoGP bike.”
Despite the somewhat unconvincing comments, Biaggi still managed to post the eighth fastest time of the test session in South Africa, two-tenths of a second ahead of new teammate Shinta Nakano and just over one second behind pace-setter Michel Fabrizio.
