World Endurance Champions SERT has raced its GSX-R1000 to victory in the German 24-Hour World Endurance round after leading for most of the race.
Suzuki Endurance Racing Team riders Vincent Philippe, Matthieu Lagrive and Julien Da Costa took control of the race at Oschersleben after the first hour and turned a 30-second advantage into an 18 minute, 12-lap victory over pole-setters Kawasaki France.
The team recorded 905 faultless laps with Kawasaki France on 893 and third-placed Yamaha Austria Racing on 885 laps.
After six hours, SERT led Yamaha Phase One by four laps. After eight hours they led Phase One and Yamaha Austria – who made a challenge for second position, but from the halfway point, the French squad opened up a steady lead until the flag.
