WSB Valencia; PBM Report

The word from the Paul Bird Motorsport team, following the Valencia round of WSB;

Broc Parkes scored a 10th place result in race one, and was battling for fifth place during the race, showing he could run with the leading group. Parkes, on a PBM Kawasaki ZX10R, had a rough time in qualifying with a big crash on Friday, but recovered to do well in Saturday’s Superpole.

“I got a good start in race one,” said Parkes, “and I was happy to be fighting with the lead group.  The bike felt the best it’s been all year and it was good for the team to get into the top ten. Race two was a different story though, as I struggled with grip at the front end and there wasn’t much I could do.”

PBM Team-mate, Makoto Tamada fared even worse, with a DNF in race two after suffering gearbox problems. Tamada clocked up some ponts in race one however, with a 14th place.

Both WSB races were won by Haga, with Fabrizio scoring two podiums. Yorkshire lad Tom Sykes was 7th and 10th, with Leon Haslam 5th in both events, making him top Brit rider. Next round is Assen on 25th/26th April.
