First Test At Oulton Park

My new bike

I don't think you can be much luckier than to be able to try both a wet and dry set-up in one day!

Hiya everyone. Well, I’ve had a chance to ride my new bike and I must say, I am one happy chap!

I went to Oulton Park last Wednesday for a ’shake-down’ test but to be honest, the bike was pretty good straight from the off.

It was wet when we arrived, so the morning session gave me the chance to try to find a wet set-up. I think that the fact that I was getting my knee down in the wet without even feeling that I was pushing things is a pretty good clue as to how good it felt.

After dinner we had a dry track and we had the chance to go for a proper race set-up. I don’t think you can be much luckier than to be able to try both a wet and dry set-up in one day!

Things felt really good and considering that it’s almost six months since I was last on a bike, I was more than happy. There’s still a bit of fine tuning to do but we have a fairly good starting point. It will soon be the first race and even if we don’t have chance to do any more tests, I’m not too worried as I don’t think we are a million miles away and think we have a competitive package.

See you all at Brands Hatch!
