Ideas 2

It was interesting that I found circumnavigation concepts so easy to create. For me, and specifically related to what I do, it was easy thinking up something no one else had thought about - correction: maybe it wasn’t original but I was the only one to connect the two. In 1995 I suggested to my then sponsors; IBM, Triumph and Mobil, that I ride faster around the world than anyone else had thought possible - world travel at speed was a very obscure concept.

Ideas happen quite spontaneously during whatever journey I happen to be doing, and is systematically revised until by journey end. By the time I get home, I have a perfectly formed idea for a new adventure. Regular jobs and even a regular lifestyle (which is the by-product) make it harder to do this and that is the major reason why I have had to live outside conventional lifestyle.

I remember getting the bike - a 1994 Triumph Daytona 900 - the model before the T595. I nearly rode the new production model but understandably, management didn’t want to risk an unknown, inexperienced rider run what is effectively, the ultimate test drive.
