More Problems With The Brakes

14th on the grid
Well, here we are, back at Brands to re-play the meeting that was snowed off. The grid positions are as per round one, so it was just a bit of free practice and then resume 14th on the grid that was set all that time ago.
I got a good start this time and was through to about 7th, slipped back to 8th after a bit of pushing and shoving and then got my place back to 7th and over the next few laps, made the gap up to catch the next pack which was all the lads from 6th through to 3rd.
Those amongst you who remember what I wanted to forget last week, just may have an idea what comes next!
Last time out, I had problems with the brakes, or to be correct, I had problems about not having any brakes, well this week they threw up a new party trick. Little or no feeling (or effect) when first applied and then getting a bit ‘grabby’ as the bike slows down a bit. At this point let me just tell you that I have some damn good lads working on the bike and it isn’t just a simple solution. I have total faith in Wurz and the lads and know that if anything can be sorted, they will do it.
Anyway, I was about up to the next group and going into Druids the brakes just felt as though they didn’t release as quickly as I wanted them to and the next thing I know is that I was racking up a few more ‘Air-miles’, no body damage to me, but a dustbin lid sized dent to the pride!
Game over lap seven! It’s now dawning on me how much I needed a proper pre-season testing schedule to find these type of problem (i.e. having no brakes or too much brakes) and solve them before the season begins.
But we think we’ve sorted them, Donington will tell as it’s a hard track on the anchors.
See you there?
