Salinas de Ambargasta
Just about to cross the Andes, up to 4900 metres. I have a flight booked for the bike from Bogotá to Panama on Friday, so I need to cross the Andes tomorrow and get up the coast as quickly as possible.
The riding in Argentina has been quick, although the entry through customs was delayed by a paperwork hold up due to the people in Sydney. Argentina has been very friendly. The people are very warm and kind.
I met Alina in my hostel in Buenos Aires and she introduced me to Erik Thomson in Carlos Pas near Cordoba. Both ride bikes but Erik rode around the whole of South America on an old Jawa 350. He had very little money and of course no on the road support, but he just went. Erik is one of the most refreshing world bikers I have met. He is uncomplicated, gets the job done, and is inspirational in his own way. He articulates his thoughts brilliantly, so watch the podcast and enjoy Erik.
Alina, is a very cool young woman. When she knew I was taking photographs for the book, ‘Parallel World’, she asked if she could be in it. When you have a beautiful woman biker who wants to fuse ‘Tango’ with ‘biking’ – two of the sexiest things on earth – how could I refuse. Enjoy Alina, she will appear in Parallel World book in November. If you would like to have a straw vote on which shot should go in, please do and I will also make sure she sees these comments – so make em nice!
The change of style of writing is necessarily less stylised because I really need to get back. I have responsibilities to the book and also my children. We still have until the 10th September to enjoy each other’s company. I have been so impressed by you, the Bloggers Respondents, so let’s keep it up (oo er) until the bitter end, and let Cutipie keep you informed about the party!
