2010 Generic Trigger 50
The Generic brand is a mix of Taiwanese manufacturing and Austrian styling, which gives the Trigger 50 a modern, urban trailie look for its 2010 X Competition model.
Featuring upside down forks, alloy weel rims, wavy discs front and rear, plus a two-stroke 50cc single cylinder motor, the Generic has the looks that would tempt a 16 year old to get into motorcycling. The X Comp version has a relatively tall seat height, but the SM ( Supermoto ) is suitable for the less taller teenager.
The Trigger’s water-cooled, single cylinder engine is restricted by UK law of course, but features a six speed gearbox as the Minarelli motor is designed to produce more power for many mainland European markets. If you pass your test and de-restrict the Trigger 50cc motorbike, remember to tell your insurance broker or underwriter, otherwise you may not be covered.
Other features include hand-guards, a dual seat, monoshock rear suspension and an underseat exhaust system.
New styling updates for 2010 are the major change on the X and SM versions of the Trigger 50, with bold black and white paintwork helping the X Comp model really stand out. The Generic brand is imported by E P Barrus in the UK, and they report that sales have risen sharply in the last few years, despite the recession.
The Generic Trigger 50 range starts at £1899 on the road.
