Arai RX-7 achieves world first
Arai’s RX-7 full-face helmet has become the first motorcycle helmet to meet the rigorous Snell M2010 standard, as well as exceed the ECE 22-05 standard in Europe.
The main difference between the ECE 22-05 standard and the Snell Foundation level is that the US Snell organisation tests helmets to motorsport competition safety levels, not just street riding, so the presumed impact speeds and the chances of multiple impacts on the same part of the helmet, are more severe under the Snell testing regime.
Arai Europe’s MD Ingmar Stroeven commented; “Nobody can predict the angle, speed, severity or conditions of a crash, that’s why we build Arai helmets to our standard. We build on the ideal of what could happen, rather than what is likely to happen. Arai is extremely proud that the RX-7 GP is one of the first helmets to exceed both the very demanding ECE 22-05 and Snell M2010 standards.”
The new RX-7 GP Arai helmet range starts at £524.99 and is availble in sizes XS-XXL.
