BOS Silencer for 2007 Honda Hornet 600
BOS exhausts of the Netherlands have created a beautifully crafted ‘shorty’ race-style silencer for the 2007 Honda CB600F Hornet.Honda positioned the OE (Original Equipment) low-slung exhaust system under the engine for enhanced mass centralisation and sharper handling, with a prominent triangular exhaust pipe emerging by the swing arm.
The BOS silencer is a far more compact, round style, measuring 340mm long by 95mm diameter. It attaches to the original collector box under the engine via a short adaptor pipe, which is upswept for a racier appearance, revealing more of the Hornet’s dual box section aluminium swing arm. In spite of its size, the BOS silencer is EC-approved and fully road legal, with a removable dB eater for occasions when a little more noise is appropriate.
Weighing in at 1.9kg the steel version is 5% lighter than the original item but looks 50% lighter.
BOS produces the Hornet tail pipe in a choice of two materials, carbon fibre and shot-blasted stainless steel, which has a similar appearance to titanium. Both use stainless steel end caps and fittings and utilise a mounting bracket that bolts directly into the silencer, so there is no need for an unsightly strap to hold it in place.
The carbon silencer sells for £329 and a shot-blasted stainless model for £259 inc. VAT.
