HJC FS-10 Carbon Fibre Helmet 2007

HJC, the world’s largest helmet company, have launched their popular FS-10 full-face helmet in a new carbon fibre shell option.Predominantly the use of carbon fibre is largely associated with racing and sports riding, but by utilising this lightweight material on a sports and touring helmet, HJC have found other benefits in aiding rider comfort after long durations in the saddle.

The pressure placed on a rider’s neck from the weight of the helmet increases with speed and length of exposure, but by using carbon fibre on this shell, designed in HJC’s own wind tunnel, tests have found that this discomfort is reduced.

Helping to boast the FS-10’s credentials as the road rider’s helmet is the use of a built-in sun visor. Operated by the touch of a button, the discreet integral system shield cuts out harmful UV rays, also allowing the rider not to be distracted by extreme brightness and low-level sunlight. Completely legal, this also eliminates the need to stop and change visors.

The main visor features an anti-fog coating with a dual pivot mechanism borrowed from the firm’s range-topping HQ-1 helmet to ensure an ultra-secure seal, locked firmly in place with an easily operated switch.

With comfort paramount, further aiding the rider is the use of AquaTrans for the removable and washable lining and cheek pads. Though only the thickness of a human hair, this micro fabric is massively efficient at absorbing perspiration.

Though light in weight, the superbly competitively priced £249.99 Carbon fibre FS-10 is massively heavy in essential rider features.

Available in sizes XS-XL.
