If you’re down at the NEC Motorcycle show this week, then get yourself along to the Carole Nash Classic Village, Hall 3, where you will see the Impact Jacket on display, featuring a unique built-in airbag.
The airbag is activated, within half a second, via a gas canister, once the rider is separated from the motorcycle at speed. You simply fasten the Impact Jacket to your motorcycle, and if a force of 25lbs or more pulls the cable apart from the machine, then the airbag inflates.
If do you forget you’re attached, then just stepping off your bike when parked won’t usually exert 25lbs of pulling power. But if it does, and the Impact Jacket inflates, then you’ll be glad to know it is re-usable.
Follow the instructions and pack the jacket away, fit a new gas canister - which costs just £7.50 - and it’s ready for use once again.
This jacket could be a real lifesaver in an accident and insidebikes reckons it makes a really useful bit of insurance on-the-move for regular city centre commuters, despatch riders, breakdown patrol staff, motorcycle taxi riders and their passengers etc.
The usual price on the Impact Jacket is £449, but for the duration of the NEC Bike show, the cost is reduced to £349, yes, a 100 quid off. Gotta be worth a look.
