Squire ST3 sidecar for XJR1300
The Yamaha XJR1300 is one of the most popular retro bikes of the last decade or so, and ideal for sidecar use. Now Watsonian-Squire, who actually manufacture sidecars right here in the UK, have launched an ST3 model suitable for the big Yamaha 1300.
Featuring a glass fibre body, 13 inch wheels and a strong steel perimeter frame, the ST3 is perfect for sportier bikes like the XJR1300, which are capable of fairly high speeds and have torquey power delivery. The ST3 sidecar weighs 91Kgs and measures 218cm X 86 cm wide. There is room for a fair amount of luggage in the boot of the ST3 as well, making the sidecar ideal for keen bike rally enthusiasts.
Squire offer sidecar tuition for those novices who decide to fit an ST3 to their XJR1300 as well. It is a totally different technique to riding a conventional motorcycle, or driving a four-wheeled car. If you’ve never tried a sidecar, insidebikes says you should give it a whirl, it’s great fun.
The Squire ST3 costs £3495 and one-off paintwork is available as an optional extra.
