The BMW Boxer bible by Ian Falloon
This new book from Veloce looks at the history of the BMW boxer twins 1970-1996, written by well known author Ian Falloon.
The modern classic range of BMW twins includes legendary models such as the R90S and R100RS- the ground-breaking fully-faired touring motorbike of the late 70s.
Falloon looks back to the early 70s, when BMW transformed themselves from a quirky, almost fading manufacturer, into a more innovative creator of motorcycles for riders who demaded durability, unique engineering and long term value.
When the German factory decided the Boxer motor was finished in the 80s, and switched to fours and triples, customer demand forced them to reconsider in the 90s and the R series was revived.
Featuring a full racing history, annual model changes, plus technical information, the book is a useful reference for collectors of BMW twins, or owners who simply admire the marque and want to learn more. Falloon is the author of the `Bible’ series books on Laverda twins, Ducati 750 and 900 twins, plus Guzzi Sport machines.
The BMW Boxer Twins Bible is published by Veloce Books UK and costs £29.99, with 190 illustrations. It does not include information on the R45 or GS series twins by the way.
