30th Carole Nash Classic Show breaks all records
Everyone had something to celebrate at the 30th Carole Nash International Classic MotorCycle Show, held over the 24-25th April. Not only was the show 30 years old, the sun shone down on a record breaking event which saw well over 30,000 people enter the Stafford County Showground for a weekend that offered something for everybody.
Star guest Phillip McCallen really gave fans a treat as he wowed crowds with his stories of racing accolades, including an unequalled 4 race wins at the Isle of Man TT in one week and being the only rider to win 5 races at the North West 200 in one day.
Bonhams had its biggest Stafford auction ever with £1.6-million gross sales. The highest sale of the weekend being the 1894 Hildebrand & Wolfmuller going for £86,200 and the 1938 Brough Superior for a spectacular £157,700.
The public ‘Ride-Outs’ were once more a tremendous success for the show, with manufacturers including Yamaha, Ducati, Royal Enfield, Honda and Triumph all being thrilled at the event’s success. Rob Jones from Watsonian Squire, Royal Enfield said: “The show has done exactly what we wanted it to do and more, with a great amount of enquiries and non-stop ride-outs all weekend.”
A first for the event, the Classic Dirt Bike Experience, was an absolute hit, with stars of the off-road world such as Mick Andrews and 11 times successive British Trials Champion Sammy Miller on stage delighting fans, we are sure this element of the show will now just grow and grow!
