Blow away the blues at Bristol

For almost three decades, The Bristol Classic Motorcycle Show has heralded the start of yet another fantastic classic season, and the 29th running of the show, which takes place over the weekend of 14-15 February looks set to do it in style!

Firmly established at the spacious Bath and West Showground at Shepton Mallet and sponsored by Carole Nash and Amal, the 2009 show is forecasted to be the biggest and best yet.

Even Classic Bike Show’s Exhibition Manager, Nick Mowbray, a man not easily fazed, has been surprised at the demand. “With weeks to go to the show it is sold out,” said a delighted Nick, “and that is with the addition of an extra marquee. Last year we had demand for more under cover trading than we could handle so we decided to take the plunge and its looks to be a huge success”.

Eight times World Champion Phil Read MBE will be attending as guest of honour and the renowned rider will be on hand all weekend to chat to visitors, before handing out a myriad of trophies on Sunday afternoon.

As always, the clubs are at the heart of any classic show there isn’t a single show where you will find a better selection than at Bristol! The big prize money is back and last year’s winners, the innovative Rudge Enthusiasts Club, will be back to defend their crown. However, with the likes of last year’s runners-up, the Norton Owners Club and third-placed North Devon British Motorcycle Owners Club vying for the loot and the trophies, they won’t have an easy ride!

The gates open on both Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 at 10am and close at 5pm. Tickets are prices at £9.00 for adults, senior citizens at £7.00 and under 15s just £3.50.
