Brightonia: Sunday October 11
The Brightonia show takes place on Sunday October 11 as the biking community gathers on the South Coast to raise money for the Sussex Heart Charity.
As with many of Brighton’s major motoring events, The Brightonia takes place on Maderia Drive and the fledgling event, which has been going since 2006, promises to be a celebration of everything that’s good about two wheels.
Organised by local motorcycle enthusiasts, The Brightonia raised £12,500 in its first year, that figure rising to over £23,000 in 2008.
Music is a vital part of the day’s entertainment, with three stages all hosting outstanding bands. Visitors are free to take their pick between the main stage, a rock ‘n’ roll stage and the stage of Concorde 2, the Drive’s permanent music venue. Those with a shopping habit are also well catered for, with a wide range of trade stalls.
Another highlight is the Custom Show, with bikers free to enter their pride and joy into one of twelve competition categories; Best Chopper, Best Harley, Best Rat, Best Streetfighter, Best Custom Bike, Best Sports Bike, Best Trike, Best Scooter, Best Goldwing, Best in Show, Worst Rat, Best Hot Rod, Best Paint, Best Classic.
