Durham Bikewise 2011
Durham Bikewise takes place this Sunday (24 July), with a whole host of attractions lined up to keep you entertained, all in the name of charity.
Amongst the attractions the Police HQ, Arkley Heads, Durham, will be Darlington-based BSB team HM Plant Honda and former British Superbike Champion Shane Byrne will be on hand to meet fans in Durham at the weekend.
New for 2011 is the X-Treme Motorcycle Stunt Trials Display Team, who are based at Keighley and consists of two of the world’s best stunt riders.
Music this year is by Twister, a young, four piece, energetic pop/rock band based in Durham. Twister have been together for about six years, and in November 2009 released their debut album ‘Someone’s Gotta Lie’
Ducati’s Roadshow will once again be at the event and visitors will be able to take a test ride at any of these events. Just remember to bring both parts of your driving licence and appropriate clothing and safety gear. Local dealership staff will be on hand to give expert technical and service advice and trained riders will be there to guide all test rides
As well as the above, the Police Dogs will be putting on a display, Motorschool will be giving skid pan and four wheel drive demo rides and the Police Helicopter will also be basing itself at the Police HQ.
And then there’s all our retailers, bike clubs and custom / classic bike show and then of course our younger riders from the BikeWise Mini Bike Club.
Entry to the show is just £2 for adults, with U16s admitted free of charge. All profits from the show will be donated to charity. Parking for motorcycles and cars is also free.
