Euro Stunt stars invade South West Coast
Extreme motorcycle stunt riders from across Europe and the UK are expected to compete at the inaugural Vertical Trix European Stunt competition at the South West Motorcycle Show, Westpoint Centre, Exeter, on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th August.
The long-established event attracts thousands of biking enthusiasts every year but this year sees the addition of a competition for stunt riders, all of whom will be aiming to take a slice of the £7,000 in prize money that’s on offer.
Entrants have already been confirmed from Spain, Germany, Poland and Ireland, as well as Scotland, France and Norway. The senior competition judge will be none other than AC Farius. Others are expected to be attracted by different stunt classes including Stunt Soccer, Sickest Trick and the Freestyle Finals.
“It would be easy to stage this sort of competition as a stand-alone event in London or at the NEC, but we wanted to give something extra to the biking enthusiasts who have visited the South West Motorcycle Show for years now,” explained event organiser Howard Cartledge. “Visitors will have the chance to watch a very intense competition that gives a flavour of the radical, extreme and street-bred stunt routines that are wowing audiences on the European circuit. The Stunt Soccer competition will include England v Rest of the World; maybe we can win this one!”
Other features at this year’s show include the new Performance Car Drifting demonstrations by Santa Pod Raceway, the Head2Head motorcycle wheelie machine challenge, Classic & Vintage British motorcycle display, Streetfighter display and Custom trike display; as well as bargain bike gear in the usual trade and display area.
Musical entertainment will be courtesy of two Radio Road Shows by Palm FM (Saturday) and Exeter FM (Sunday), as well as live performances by House of Kane.
The annual South West Motorcycle Show will be held at Westpoint Centre in Exeter, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th August 2010, opening times are from 10.00am until 5.00pm (both days).
