Lorenzo to announce 2010 plans next week

Jorge Lorenzo is set to announce his 2010 plans within the next week, according to his manager and representative, Marcos Hirsch.

With much of the MotoGP paddock awaiting the decision of the young Spaniard, the news will be a welcome relief. The decision is set to be announced at next weekend’s Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix, if not before in the week leading up to the event. The 22 year-old is set to release news of either a confirmed Ducati offer or a renewed Yamaha deal.

Commenting on the decision, also confirming that a move to Honda has been ruled out, Hirsch said: “Until the middle of this week we were still ticking off the boxes and finalising the offers. We are getting close to concluding our evaluation of the pros and cons of the offers and we acknowledge that now is the right moment to make a decision.”

Ensuring he gave nothing away too early, Hirsch explained that the announcement may be revealed at the Grand Prix next week, with the relevant team making the revelation. Hirsch also confirmed that ”money is important but it is at the bottom of our list of priorities,” stating that sporting factors are key to their final decision.
