Richards set for Silverstone return
HM Plant Honda have announced that Glen Richards will be rejoining the British Superbike grid next time out at Silverstone.
Ahead of the penultimate round of the season, Richards completed a succession of laps around the Northamptonshire venue, to ensure he would be fit enough for next weekend’s BSB assault. Taking to the track on a Honda Superstock bike, the Leicestershire driver found himself to be well enough to return to the championship next weekend.
Richards has been out of action since the BSB circus visited Knockhill in July, after he suffered a broken femur as the result of a qualifying accident.
Commenting on his rider’s return to the series, Team Manager, Havier Beltran told the BSB website: “We are happy to have Glen back on the HM Plant Honda for Silverstone, especially as he has worked so incredibly hard to maintain his fitness levels since the crash. He completed around 40 – 50 laps of Silverstone today on a Superstock bike and he feels 100% stronger than he did when he rode the bike before the Croft round.”
Remember to visit us again next weekend (25-27th September) to find out how Richards faired on his return, and to read about all of the action.
