Triumph McQueen on sale in April
Triumph’s new Steve McQueen Edition motorcycle, based on the Bonneville T100, will go on sale in April 2012.
Just 1100 of the individually numbered bikes will be produced with the approval of the Hollywood legend’s estate. McQueen was a highly accomplished rider, competing in the tough International Six Days Trial in East Germany in 1964 on a Triumph Trophy, and allegedly owned 138 motorcycles at the time of his death in 1980.
The Steve McQueen Edition is inspired by the Trophy TR6 used by the actor in The Great Escape, and comes with matt khaki green paint, a stencilled Triumph logo and McQueen’s signature on the sidepanels. It has a solo seat and rugged black luggage rack, engine protection plate and smaller headlamp, as well as various blacked out components such as wheels, bars and rear springs.
Price will be around £7,700.
