New names join Carole Nash approved repairer network

Carole Nash, the UK’s biggest motorcycle insurance specialist, has revamped its year-old network of approved repairers by introducing six new bodyshops from across the UK.

The move is designed to enhance the network’s geographical reach with it entering Norfolk and Surrey through Kings Lynn based Gladwins Ltd and Godalming’s Altamura. The firm has also acted to ensure its stringent service levels are maintained by recruiting new suppliers in Kilsyth (Strathclyde), Ilkeston (Derbyshire), Blackwood (Gwent) and Warwick.

Carole Nash’s service level agreements require repairers to guarantee policyholders FREE collection and delivery of their bike, a FREE valet and provision of an estimate within 48 hours. “A handful of repairers in the original network had held their hands up and said that in the face of growing repair volumes they may not be able to adhere to our service level agreement in future,” explained Nick Baker, head of motorcycle services at Carole Nash. “As a result we sourced alternative suppliers who had the capacity and expertise to meet our standards. We also strengthened the network by recruiting new repairers in areas where our coverage was weak.”

News of the network revamp comes just weeks after it celebrated its first anniversary by announcing it had cut the cost of a typical £1,800 repair by £235. The 13% cost reduction has been achieved through the operation of fixed tariffs and better working practices and has justified the network’s launch rationale of capping the estimated £60m annual repair bill faced by motorcycle insurance underwriters whilst improving service to policyholders.

The network is headed by a flagship in-house facility close to the firm’s Altrincham HQ which opened at a cost of £240,000 in August 2002.

EDITOR’S NOTE: The new recruits to the network are Altamura, Godalming, Surrey; Bizzie Bodies, Warwick; Gladwins, Kings Lynn, Norfolk; High Crest Accident Repairs, Blackwood, Gwent; Kilsyth’s Bike Repair Centre, Kilsyth, Strathclyde; and Motor Repair Services, Ilkeston, Derbyshire.
