FREE Commuting cover for Ride to Work Day
As enthusiastic supporters of international Ride to Work Day we have arranged for every single one of our road motorcycle insurance policyholders to enjoy FREE cover for commuting on Monday June 18th 2012.
So what do you need to do? Well apart from jumping on your bike and joining in with Ride to Work Day, absolutely nothing. Your cover will automatically be upgraded to include your FREE commuting cover, so you do not need to contact us.

- What level of cover will I have on my commuting extension to my policy?
The same as your current policy. - What if I already have commuting on my policy – will this change?
No, the additional cover applies to existing customers who haven’t opted for commuting cover. - How do I find out if I have commuting on my policy already?
Please refer to your Certificate of Motor Insurance. - What if I have an accident on the way to/from work?
Please follow the same procedure on ‘how to make a claim’. - What if my bike is stolen on the way to/from work?
Please follow the same procedure on ‘how to make a claim’. - Can I use my bike for business use also on that day?
No, cover only applies for commuting to your single place of work. - Does it apply to my off road policy?
No, cover only applies for bikes insured for use on the road. - How long am I covered for?
1 Day – ending at midnight on the 18th June 2012. - Does it cover me for pillions?
Yes, pillions are covered under the Third Party Liability section of your policy. - Will my breakdown cover still be valid?
Yes and if your commute is greater than 50 miles, hotel accommodation cover is also included if your motorcycle cannot be repaired the same day. - Does it apply to all bikes on my policy?
Yes, but you can only ride one at a time! - Does it apply to other riders on my policy?
No, commuting cover will only apply to the policyholder. - Does this cover my trike insurance?
Yes, trikes are under ‘motorcycles’ so are covered. - Can I help protect my motorcycle?
Yes. A motorcycle or scooter is an ideal commuting vehicle cutting journey times, offering great fuel economy and helping reduce congestion. But remember that a motorcycle is a compact vehicle, so always try to park your motorcycle in a well-populated, well-lit, secure area, ideally with a security-camera system and/or a security guard. Also consider physical security, such as a lock and chain, a disk lock, or ‘U’ lock. If you have recently renewed your Carole Nash motorcycle insurance policy you should also have received your free Carole Nash DNA+ forensic coding security and theft deterrence system. Make sure you apply it immediately following the instructions supplied.
