A new motorcycle has been launched in Los Angeles, and you might be surprised to discover who’s behind it.
The KRGT-1 was developed by Hollywood star Keanu Reeves, together with his friend Gard Hollinger. They founded Arch Motorcycle Company seven years ago to customise bikes, and have spent the past three years perfecting the design of their first ground-up motorcycle build.
The new S&S-powered, 2032cc V-Twin motorcycle has a price tag of $78,000 (£48,225). It features Ohlins forks and Race Tech shocks, BST carbon fibre wheels, dual six-piston, radial-mount calipers and fully customisable footpeg and bar placement.
According to Arch, the machine’s streamlined “retro-modern” styling brings the contours of the past into the present. It is made from more than 200 parts created at the Arch production facility, together with dozens of other proprietary parts supplied by partner OEMs.
Each bike requires 300-plus machine-hours using state-of-the-art CNC and water-jet machinery, the manufacturer said.
The limited-edition motorcycle will be built to order at Arch’s Los Angeles-area factory. As a result, each machine can be custom tailored for the preferences of individual buyers. Ergonomic options include forward or mid controls, narrow or wide mounted foot pegs and 2″ or 3″ handlebar pull-back risers.
Photos, videos and further details on the specification of the KRGT-1 can be found on the Arch Motorcycle Company website at http://archmotorcycle.com. And if you like what you see, the company is also accepting reservations via the website.
