The town of Aylesbury will bring together motorcycles and music as part of its first Charity Rideout fundraising initiative, scheduled to take place next month.
The event will run from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm in Aylesbury’s Market Square on 11 May and the goal will be to raise money for the Motorcycle Action Group and the Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust.
The Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust is a charitable organisation that provides an air ambulance service to help injured people in Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. The organisation relies solely on charity donations to keep the helicopter flying. Each one of the missions it flies costs around £2,500, with the team having around two to three missions every day.
The entertainment at the Aylesbury Charity Rideout will be in the hands of Lauren King, owner of the Green Man pub. But before that part, a ride in which all motorbikes, scooters and trikes can participate will leave the The Crown pub in Chinnor at 10:00 for a ride around the outskirts of Thame and then on to the Aylesbury Road to Stone, arriving an hour later at the Aylesbury Exchange Street car park.
The Aylesbury Charity Rideout is sponsored by Costa Coffee and McCormick UK, with additional support from DWR Racing, Big Al’s T Bar, British Legion Riders and the Aylesbury Fire Station. Organisers from the Motorcycle Action Group say that the fundraiser is also aimed at boosting awareness of motorcycling and promoting links with the public.
