It’s no secret that being out on the road with your bike is one of the best feelings in the world. From the moment you sit down and rev the engine, you know you’re about to embark on something special. The sense of liberation is incredible, whether you’re riding through a busy city, or down a country lane. The only thing that could be better than riding alone is sharing the experience with a friend. With decades of experience in the bike insurance industry, we pride ourselves on providing cover for people of all ages. That’s why we’re proud to announce the launch of our #BikerBuddy Campaign where we aim to pair like-minded people together who want to share their love of motorcycles.
The motorbike community is highly sociable, with events and shows taking place around the UK. Meeting people with similar interests is an exciting opportunity, because you’ll be able to share your passion for bikes and help each other learn new things. The campaign will run for four weeks and it begins by asking what kind of biker you are and what kind of buddy you’re looking for. This can be done by stating your interest to be involved on Twitter or via email.
There are a number of activities you and your buddy can do together. This could be as simple as taking a quiet ride out to the countryside, or going to a show. Some of the best events to look forward to this year include The Carole Nash MCN Scottish Motorcycle Show, The Manchester Bike Show, The 37th Carole Nash International Classic Motorcycle Show and Carole Nash MCN Summer Festival. You could even go to a Motocross event, such as the British Motocross Grand Prix Home, held in June. Motocross is fast-paced and exciting, making it an ideal environment to bond with your buddy.
Another advantage of meeting someone new is sharing advice. If you’re new to the biking world, then you’d be able to ask for information about different models and parts. This could be very beneficial for young riders, who are trying to decide the next bike they want to buy. Mentorship is a rewarding experience for any biker, and you’d be able to pass on your knowledge to help someone else.
A great example of a biking friendship is between ambassadors Leon Haslam and Jonathan Rea. Both are accomplished motorbike enthusiasts and have a wealth of knowledge they can share with each other.
At Carole Nash, we want to make getting out and about on your mate’s bike as easy as possible**. That’s why at Carole Nash we have Rider Cover** included as part our benefits package. So if you’re a Carole Nash policyholder this gives you accidental damage cover when riding your mate’s bike anywhere in the UK, whether it’s through the countryside or a busy city. As long as both bikes have comprehensive cover, and the permission of the other rider, you will have peace of mind, and it means your friendship can become stronger. Don’t forget as with all insurances T&Cs apply!
Owning a motorbike is an expression of freedom. They are fast, beautiful and stylish. From a speed demon like the Fireblade, to a reliable scooter, there are a range of models that suit a variety of tastes. #BikerBuddy is about sharing a mutual passion for the open road, and we’re here to help you express it every step of the way.
We encourage anyone who’s interested in being a biker buddy to step forward. Whether you’ve recently discovered your love for motorbikes, or have been riding for years, we want to hear from you. You’ll need to enter at the beginning of March and by the end of the month you’ll be paired with your buddy. Once you’ve been matched, the results will be shared with the media to bring more awareness to the motorcycle world.
To take part in Carole Nash’s new initiative, all you have to do is share a quick description of the type of biker you are, and what kind of biker buddy you’re looking for, via tweeting @InsideBikes with #BikerBuddy, or emailing bikerbuddy@carolenash.com. T&Cs Apply with the BikerBuddy competition.
