Motorcycle dealership George White has gone into administration today, the company has confirmed.
The business, UK’s leading motorcycle dealership with branches in Plymouth, Swindon and Torbay, as well as clothing outlets in Swindon, Plymouth, Bolton, Donington and Slough, has closed all eight of its outlets and all staff have reportedly been made redundant.
Steve Gannicott, owner of George White, confirmed to MCN that the group had ceased trading and had filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators. The company’s website has also been closed down.
The business was first founded in 1961 by former Swindon speedway rider George White before being bought by GT Motorcycles in 2010.
Founder, George White, told the Swindon Advertiser: “It really is a shame, I am as surprised as anybody.”
Restructuring experts Deloitte have been appointed as administrators for the business and have confirmed that 61 of 70 jobs have gone.
