Isle of Man TT: Wednesday Races

Another dazzling day at the Isle of Man TT, the sun was shining and the excitement amongst the crowd was palpable as spectators watched with baited breath to see who would cross the finish line victorious, in Wednesday’s Supersport event.

The Superstock race on Tuesday was dominated by Ian Hutchinson, and it appears the superstar rider is onto a winner, having also won Monday’s Supersport event. With two wins this week alone Hutchinson was brimming with confidence – and it paid off as he fired across the finishing line on again in first place at the Supersport race on Wednesday.

A gutted Bruce Anstey made an admirable effort to beat Hutchinson on his Padgetts Honda, but to no avail. However, the New Zealander scored second place just 14.820 seconds behind the champion, proving to be a real threat to Hutchinson in subsequent races.

Together with Guy Martin, who seized bronze position, the three riders jostled for podium positions. Hutchinson claimed a seven second lead early on in the race and after lap three, this lead extended to eight seconds. Although Martin somewhat lagged behind Anstey, this is nevertheless his first podium position of the week – a proud moment for the Smiths Triumph biker.

James Hillier and Gary Johnson claimed fourth and fifth position respectively at Wednesday Supersport race. Another Smiths Triumph rider, David Johnson, flew across the finish line in 10th position and spectacularly beat his fastest ever Supersport lap – scoring a speed of 125.587mph on the final lap of the race.

Next up at the perhaps the world’s most challenging race circuit, we see the riders go head-to-head in Friday’s six lap Senior Superbike Race. Stay tuned to find out the results of this highly anticipated battle of the bikes!
