Kawasaki Motors UK has announced that it will be adding an ABS-equipped scooter to its J300 range. The company said that it will sell a limited number of the ABS-J300SE scooters to the UK market later this year, Visordown reports. kawasaki

The company first intended to sell just the non-ABS model of the scooter in the UK, as it said it would be much easier to monitor buyers’ attitudes towards the model in the first year of sales. However, it decided to take media and prospective client feedback into account and include a certain number of ABS-fitted bikes to its mix, Craig Watson, sales manager for Kawasaki UK, said.

The ABS-equipped J300SE scooters will be available in the green and black special edition (SE) colour scheme and will have a price tag of £4,499. It will be slightly more expensive than the non-ABS edition of the two-wheeler, which will cost £4,149. The standard, non-ABS model, coloured in silver or black, will be marketed at £4,049.

The J300 is Kawasaki’s first-ever scooter designed for the European market. The Japanese company worked together with Taiwanese sector player Kymco to build the core drive train and additional chassis parts. Kawasaki’s own design and engineering team was responsible for the styling and the final product engineering approach to the model.

The J300, which borrowed elements from Kawasaki’s Ninja sport line-up, is powered by a 299cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine.
