MotoGP 2015: Round 6

MotoGP-2015-Round-6.jpg

The end of May saw the MotoGP season head to the beautiful Tuscan countryside for the Gran Premio d’Italia at the Autodromo del Mugello. Ferrari’s home track is a twisting and turning course nestled among picturesque surroundings, and the weekend’s sun kept the crowd in high spirits as the action unfolded on the course.

Jorge Lorenzo did Movistar Yamaha MotoGP proud once again, dominating the circuit to earn his third consecutive win. Putting him in great standing for the season’s title, Lorenzo is now just six points behind team mate Valentino Rossi. Rossi, meanwhile, made slow and steady progress from his starting point at eighth on the grid to earn third place – a second behind Ducati Team’s Andrea Iannone.

Marc Marquez’s outstanding earlier performances have meanwhile been overshadowed by his more recent poor fortune, and this time he crashed out while battling for second place. Cal Crutchlow suffered a more severe accident while leading the pack, leaving him with a dislocated ankle.
