New Husqvarna Street Bikes Point To Brand’s Future Direction

Three new street models will be unveiled by Husqvarna at the upcoming EICMA motorcycle show in Milan.

According to the Swedish manufacturer, the models – one production motorcycle and two concept prototypes – will demonstrate the future direction of the brand.

Husqvarna said that although these days it is known for its off-road models and racing successes, it is returning to the street segment with a new large displacement, single-cylinder model as well as two “fascinating and very modern” concept models.

The bike that is ready for production incorporates state-of-the-art technology while staying faithful to the brand’s heritage. Husqvarna promises that it will “offer premium characteristics while maintaining the Swedish tendency towards functional design”.

The two concepts planned to be showcased at the Italian motorcycle show are said to feature lightweight construction and functionality, together with premium quality hardware and “uncompromised design”. The manufacturer, which has been making motorcycles since 1903, says that the concept models will show clearly what we can expect from future Husqvarna models within the street market.

There are expectations that the production-ready machine will be based on the Husqvarna 701 supermoto, a 690cc single-cylinder street bike that was originally showcased as a concept model at last year’s event.

Unveiling the design of the 701 at EICMA last year, the Swedish company said that it embraces the heritage of the Husqvarna brand and projects it towards the future.
