Triumph back in central London with new Vauxhall dealership

Classic British motorcycle brand Triumph last week launched its new dealership in central London, with the new solus dealer replacing the now defunct Metropolis Motorcycles in Vauxhall.

Multi-franchise dealership Metropolis Motorcycles closed its doors just over a year ago, citing the high costs associated with rent and rates, combined with a challenging motorcycle market exacerbated by high motorcycle theft rates in the London area.

Triumph London is the fourth Triumph dealership operated by Lind Automotive Group, who also hold franchises for BMW, Harley-Davidson and Porsche. It occupies a railway arch just a short walk from the former Metropolis premises on Albert Embankment, on the south bank of the River Thames, close to Vauxhall station. Last week saw the dealership open with a VIP party night, that also saw the new Triumph Rocket 3 and Street Triple RS models debut alongside ever popular bikes like the Bonneville, Speed Triple and Thruxton.

Devron Boulton, National Sales Manager for Triumph Motorcycles UK and Ireland, said: “Triumph hasn’t had a dedicated central London presence for a year so we’re excited that this has now been rectified. As a proudly British brand, it’s important to us that we have a hub in the nation’s capital. And, with the site at the Vauxhall railway arches having its own rich motorcycling heritage itself, it makes perfect sense for our London home to be located there.”

Russ Dacre, managing director of Lind, added: “The Lind Group are delighted to have been given the opportunity by Triumph to open a boutique style dealership in the capital city. This central London store is a wonderful accompaniment to our three existing Triumph dealerships in east, west and north London. Triumph London offers an industry-leading outlet for motorcyclists of London to experience the world of Triumph, along with a convenient and easy-to-access workshop. This exciting new dealership will be home to Triumph owners of London, but also a place for motorcyclists to stop by and enjoy a complimentary coffee to break up their ride.”

Triumph London is based at Arch 68, Albert Embankment, London, SE1 7TL
