The votes are in, and the winner of this year’s RiDER Power satisfaction survey is the Triumph Tiger 1200 Explorer, as voted by the UK’s biking community, MCN news has reported.
Thousands of motorbike enthusiasts participated in the survey by rating their own motorcycle’s performance, build quality, running costs, handling, wind protection, dealer support, and pillion and biker support. Owners of the three-cylinder Triumph Explorer have given it the top spot in the adventure motorcycle class with a top overall score of 90.64%. This is the first overall win for a motorcycle built in the United Kingdom since the first RiDER Power survey, which was carried out 15 years ago.
Colin Overland, editor at RiDE magazine, said that Triumph Explorer owners all said the same things about their motorcycle. They all commented on the bike’s comfort, its amazing engine, and how well it coped with luggage and pillions. They also said that the bike is very fast but also extremely reliable.
The survey revealed that the Triumph Tiger 1200 Explorer is mainly being bought by riders with experience and who are aware of the alternatives from other countries in Europe and from Japan, so the positive vote for the Triumph Explorer speaks volumes, Overland said.
There were a total of seven Triumphs in the top 50 list of motorbikes. The adventure class and overall runner up was the Yamaha Super Tenere, followed by the BMW K1600GT, BMW R1200RT and BMW K1300S.
