Although the championship may already be tucked firmly under his arm, Jonathan Rea showed no signs of letting his dominance slip following a double victory in Magny-Cours this weekend.
After battling with teammate Tom Sykes and home favourite Sylvain Guintoli in race one, JR stormed his way to victory in race two ahead of Chaz Davies and Sykes to extend his lead at the top of the championship to a whopping 138 points.
Matching Troy Bayliss’ record of 22 podium finishes, Rea’s performances this season could see a new record being set as the 2015 campaign heads into its final event in Qatar later this month – and although many eyes will be on Rea, the battle for second place remains as fierce as ever.
With Davies currently holding a 16 point lead ahead of Tom Sykes, and JR already crowned as the 2015 champion, Kawasaki will be hoping to make it a clean one-two and finish off what could well be the perfect season for the Japanese giants.
